4Kids4Families Partners with Beds for Kids to Provide Beds for unlicensed Kinship and Reunified Families in Bowie County.
Texarkana, TX – 4Kids4Families is proud to announce a new partnership with Beds for Kids, a bed-building ministry overseen by Artie Erwin on behalf of Walnut Church of Christ in Texarkana, Bowie County. This collaboration will help provide beds for unlicensed kinship and reunified families, offering vital support to children in need.
Artie, alongside his wife Yvonne, leads the bed-building ministry at Walnut Church of Christ and has been actively assisting Child Protective Investigations (CPI) with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) and Faith-Based and Community Engagement (FBCE), as well as Family-Based Safety Services (FBSS). Now, through this partnership, they will extend their services to families supported by 4Kids4Families.
There are currently 561 children in foster care under the care of kinship or affective kin caregivers who are not licensed and, therefore, do not receive the full range of benefits available to licensed foster homes. This partnership will have a significant impact on children and families in Bowie County by addressing one of their most urgent needs.
Beds for Kids is one of eight bed-building ministries in Region 4, which is made up of 23 counties where the need for essential household items remains great. Beyond delivering beds, Artie and Yvonne also help families with other necessities such as blankets, toys, appliances, and high-priority household items. These donations come from the congregation at Walnut Church of Christ, the broader community, and generous individuals like the Erwins, who are committed to making a difference.
“We are honored to work with Artie and Yvonne, whose dedication to serving children and families is truly inspiring,” said Belen Casillas, Community Relations Director at 4Kids4Families. “Their generosity, combined with the support of Walnut Church of Christ and the local community, is bringing hope and stability to families who need it most.”
