Celebrating Growth: 4Kids4Families Grand Openings in Athens & Longview

At 4Kids4Families, our mission is clear—helping kids and strengthening families through community-based care. As we continue to expand our reach and impact across Region 4, we are excited to announce the grand openings of our new offices in Athens and Longview. These locations will allow us to better serve children and families in need, ensuring they receive the right support, resources, and services within their own communities.

A New Chapter in Foster Care for Region 4

This expansion comes as part of the ongoing transition from CPS-managed foster care to Community-Based Care (CBC) under the leadership of 4Kids4Families. In February 2023, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) began implementing Community-Based Care in Region 4, shifting the responsibility of foster care services from the state to a Single Source Continuum Contractor (SSCC)—which is now 4Kids4Families.

This transition means that local providers, community partners, and families play a more active role in ensuring children in foster care receive the right services for their unique needs. With the opening of our Athens and Longview offices, we are expanding our ability to offer specialized support, strengthen collaboration with local organizations, and improve
outcomes for children in care.

We hope you’ll join us in celebrating this next step in transforming child welfare in East Texas.
